How to become positive after a tough time||Being Positive

Hey guys, something happened recently that I wanted to tell you about so here goes:

Around last year October/August I started to discover that I had a love of fitness and working out and that was great because I ended up with a ton of endorphins (happy hormones)! Anyway so I got ready for school at the beginning of this year the whole shebang and I still felt motivated and inspired and school started and I didn’t do as well as I hoped but I was still fine. Then this week things started to change, anyone who knows me knows I’m a confident, bubbly person who could probably walk up to a stranger and have a conversation without running out of things to say. However I started to feel isolated and it felt like and I don’t know how to say this without confusing you but, it felt like I couldn’t say anything or speak not because I was shy but because even though I wanted to it was like my body didn’t want me to. Basically I was in this situation where I couldn’t speak that much and that was scary not to mention super annoying and because I couldn’t talk I was not being me and I just began to feel uninspired and unmotivated and paying attention in class became a super difficult thing to do. Today the 26th of April was the day I got out of this rut and I want to share some tips with you on how I did it and staying positive!❤

  1. Wake up each morning and smile, even if it’s forced your brain will associate that smile with feeling happy and you may start to feel better.
  2. Work out. I mentioned earlier that exercise and running produces endorphins (happy hormones) and hormones are very powerful things they can make you go from happy to sad to angry in like 10 seconds. I always love exercise as a form of meditation because after a workout I always  feel like order has been restored to my life and feeling like you’re in control is the best feeling ever!PSX_20170426_195755
  3. Take a long hot shower and reflect, think about the good and the bad, things that people did that made you smile. I think about all sorts of things in the shower: tests, songs, books, quotes, shopping. Once you get out of the shower change into your fav PJs  and listen to music or read.
  4. Create. This is definitely a favourite you take all the things you like and don’t like about yourself and you create it into this person who is like you but different. Eg. You’re bad at English|she loves Shakespeare. Your alter ego should be the person you want to be like and she doesn’t have to be perfect😊.
  5. Ask yourself is this gonna be a huge problem 20 years from now, if the answer is no don’t let it bother you and focus on all the good things happening in your life.
  6. Don’t spend your time on people who make you feel bad about yourself (auf wiedersehen).
  7. Have a book in which you write or board on Pinterest of quotes that inspire you.
  8. Love yourself

Study tips and tricks

Exams, midterms, cycle tests, finals one thing they all have in common stress! Taking tests is always stressful even when you know all the material so here are some hacks, tips and tricks to help you improve your test results:

▪REMAIN POSITIVE.

No matter what happens at the end of the day of you know you tried your best that’s all that matters.

▪Teach the material you need to learn.

This let’s you see, hear and hold the material if you wrote it or printed it out plus you are also saying it and that makes it a heck of a lot easier to remember.

▪Use diffent note techniques for different subjects.

▪Take breaks.

It is scientifically proven that you can only study at your best for 30-45 minutes. The length of your break is completely up to you unless you count one episode of FRIENDS as a set time😉

▪Forest is an app that you can download on your phone, it works just like Self-control except better because it involves nature.

▪Stay hydrated.

Dehydration makes it super hard to focus so mare sure to drink water while studying and during your breaks.

▪Wear comfortable clothes.

▪Make to- do lists.

▪Record yourself saying the information you have to know and then play it back.

▪ Asking your teacher for help doesn’t make you dumb just don’t do it on the day of the test.

▪Take out all the materials you will need while studying.

▪Eat brain foods/healthy foods while studying.

▪Eat breakfast during your exam week if you don’t normally eat breakfast you should, everyday.

▪Make mind maps.

▪File and label all of your old notes.

▪Write down reminders.

▪Review everything you’ve learnt so far each week.

▪Remember that you can’t base yourself on marks because even though you may not be getting the best marks you are still a kind, beautiful and extremely intelligent person.

Life Hacks

Have you ever been in a situation when you needed help but couldn’t think of a solution? These hacks are for everyday use and hopefully if you run out of data or the WiFi isn’t working you remember these😉

  • Put a wet wipe on your brush before brushing your hair. This makes it a lot easier to remove any hair from it later.
  • Accidentally close a tab on your laptop? Simply press ctrl,shift,T to restore your tab.
  • Fluff on your favorite jersey? If you don’t have a lint roller things may be looking pretty bad for you however if you have a shaving stick simply shave the fluff away. DO NOT TRY WITH SHAVING CREAM😂
  • Do you constantly find that your nail polish ends up everywhere around your nail and not where it’s supposed to be? Take some glue and a small paint brush and spread the glue around your nails wait for it to dry and then paint your nails same as always, once that dries peel the glue off for perfect nails💅
  • EVERYBODY knows that the struggle is real when you’re trying to wake up in the morning and get ready for work or school. Here are two hacks that’ll help you wake up:
  • 1. As soon as you wake up drink a glass of ice-cold water.
  • 2. Before you go to bed set your alarm and then place your phone/alarm clock on the opposite side of your room. Once your alarm wakes you up in the morning you’ll be forced to walk all the way to the other side of your room to switch it off, waking you up almost instantly!
  • Want to watch your fizzy drink fizz over the rim and low on Mentos? Simply add a sour worm to Sprite (I tested this yesterday with SPRITE)
  • Sour worms are amazing once you get rid of the bitter taste, place your sour worms in a glass of water for a few minutes to get rid of the overpowering taste🤓
  • Every girl experiences that time in her life when she needs a heating pad and either doesn’t have one or can’t find one. There’s a hack for that: fill a large sock with beans, tie the sock and place it in the microwave!
